10th Annual Rio Tree Lighting Ceremony

The nation's tallest live holiday tree. This year's 48-year-old White Fir hails from Winema National Forest, 40 miles north of Klamath Falls, Ore. It's 102 feet tall and weights 15,000 pounds. The tree is decorated by more than 2,000 twinking lights, hundreds of multi-colored specialty ornaments and a spectacular four-foot star tops it off.
The tree lighting took place on a very windy night.
